Haley Cavinder and twin Hanna gear up for a fifth and final season of college basketball
Hanna and Haley Cavinder announced in April that they would return to the Miami Hurricanes squad for their fifth and final season of college basketball. The two had taken a break from basketball to focus on their personal business ventures.
Haley entered the transfer portal in the 2024 off-season to join the TCU Horned Frogs, but when her twin announced that she would return to Miami, she changed her decision.
Haley Cavinder wrote on X:
"Given the news yesterday that my sister was returning to play ball at Miami and after careful consideration and thought, I've decided to return to the University of Miami and play with Hanna for our final and 5th year."
Both sisters played for the Hurricanes in the 2022-2023 season and were able to reach the Elite Eight round but were defeated by the Angel Reese-led LSU Tigers. Haley averaged 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, while her sister amassed 3.8 points per game. Before playing for Miami, they were star hoopers at Fresno State.
The twin sisters will aim to help the team qualify for the 2025 NCAAW championship tournament.
