Four-star Kansas commit Bryson Tiller is set to enroll with the University of Kansas in January 2025. The 6-foot-10 power forward from Atlanta was initially rated as a five-star commit but was relegated to 4-star when he suffered a foot injury.
“Bryson is ultra talented. If he hadn’t gotten hurt he would be a top-5, top-7 kid in the class," Kansas coach Bill Self said. "He hasn’t been able to do much in the last six or eight months, but he’s talented. He’s 6-10 and can play anywhere on the floor."
Self added that Tiller would be a redshirt freshman in his first season and the talented hooper could play for the next four seasons.
“He has had an injury that has kept him very limited first semester. He’s not played in a game yet even thought he’s been doing some things. We hope he’ll have full release (to practice) by the time he gets here,” the two-time national champion coach said.
Kansas coach Bill Self excited to have Bryson Tiller on board
Self likens Bryson Tiller's versatility to forward KJ Adams. He thanked Kansas assistant coach Kurtis Townsend for leading the recruitment process to secure Tiller's commitment.
“This was another good get for us. KT (Kurtis Townsend) was the point man on Bryson and has been recruiting him going back to Bryson’s sophomore year,” Self said.
Tiller had a stint with the City Reapers in the Overtime Elite 2023-24 season. He was named to the all-Overtime Elite second team with averages of 12.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. The 6-foot-10 forward played better offensively during the playoffs, tallying 15.6 ppg, 8.1 rpg and 1.4 bpg while shooting 52.2% from the field.
Aside from Bryson Tiller, Kansas also signed 5-star guard Darryn Peterson and forward Samis Calderon. Peterson is ranked No. 3 nationally while Calderon also played in the Overtime Elite like Tiller.
Kansas is No. 8 in the AP polls this season with an 8-2 record. They are scheduled to play Brown on Sunday at the Allen Fieldhouse.
