Flau’jae Johnson reflects on the joy of impacting the next generation
For LSU basketball star Flau’jae Johnson, the impact she has had on young fans goes beyond the court. The talented guard shared her thoughts on Thursday on her podcast, “Best of Both Worlds.” She spoke on what it means to inspire so many kids, a role she embraces with pride and gratitude.
“It feels great to be able to impact so many kids,” Johnson said when asked about her influence. “That’s what keeps me going on my hard days or even on game days when I’m kind of down on myself.”
Johnson revealed how the unwavering support of her fans served as a source of strength. Whether it’s seeing fans wearing her jersey or spotting custom-made shirts in the stands, these gestures remind her of the profound connection she has with the younger generation.
“I love when people buy my jerseys, that’s the best part,” Johnson said. “But another best part is when people go out to make their own shirts. I really put that into perspective. I’m really appreciative of that.”
The love and admiration Johnson receives from her fans has been apparent. She described it as “the most beautiful experience,” one that motivates her to give back in meaningful ways.
“It’s been the most beautiful experience," Johnson said. "Just seeing all the love that I get and I don't take it for granted, that's why I make sure I take a picture with everybody."
Her words reflect not only her gratitude but also her understanding of the responsibility that comes with being a role model.
