Sedona Prince had her best night as she led No. 9 TCU to an 80-75 win over the No. 25 Baylor Bears on Sunday. The 6-foot-7 center finished with 24 points on 11-of-18 shooting, along with 14 rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
The win ended the program's 35-year losing streak against the three-time NCAA champions and pushed the Horned Frogs on top of the Big 12 standings with an 8-1 record (20-2 overall).
In the postgame press conference, Sedona Prince was asked to rank the win in the program's 20-2 run this season. She recounted being a fan of Brittney Griner, growing up watching the Bears' dominance in college basketball, her encounter with the program and much more.
"I would say top two or three," she said (Timestamp: 4:08). "I grew up watching the Big 12. I'm from Austin, so I would go when I was like seventh grade, go and watch Texas play Baylor and Brittney Griner was kind of like my first idol in basketball.
Prince spoke about watching Baylor and Griner dominate the Big 12. The center added that she had always dreamed to playing against them and doing this with the Horned Frogs was special.
"Also, playing Baylor last year was the game that I broke my finger and so a lot of emotions going into this game and just excitement," she added. "But yeah, I was ready for the challenge and it's just really cool a lot of time to just like sit back and reminisce and look where I'm at."
Phoenix Mercury's Brittney Griner is regarded as one of the greatest centers to ever play in the WNBA. The two-time big league champion led Baylor to an undefeated 40-0 championship run in 2012 and earned two national player of the year awards.
