Two legacy prospects, Bryce James and Kiyan Anthony, the sons of NBA greats LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, have been hogging the spotlight these past few weeks due to their exploits in the famed Nike EYBL Peach Jam tournament. The two class of 2025 prospects have had stellar performances ahead of the decision on which schools to join.
Most recently, they revealed their favorite rapper ad-libs during an interview with Bleacher Report which was posted on its Instagram page on Saturday.
"Yeat's Bell, Yeat's Bell do go hard, I'll say that," James said.
"Lazer Dim when he go fuh," Kiyan said.
The interview also featured several five-star prospects, including AJ Dybantsa, the Boozer twins, Meleek Thomas, Jasper Johnson and Brayden Burries, among others.
Kiyan Anthony and Bryce James share unique bond
Kiyan Anthony and Bryce James share unique ties, as they both have famous fathers who are considered NBA legends. Carmelo Anthony was the No. 3 pick in the 2003 draft by the Denver Nuggets, while LeBron James was the undisputed No. 1 pick from high school by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Twenty-one years later, their sons are in the same recruitment class and will likely be in the 2026 draft class. The pair also teamed up last year at the Las Vegas Big Time Tournament playing for Strive For Greatness 16U.
Kiyan and Bryce have already started visiting schools, with the latter going to Ohio State, while the former has two visits under his belt already (Florida State and Syracuse).
While playing for Team Melo during this year's Peach Jam, Kiyan Anthony had the chance to go up against Bryce James's team. He described the encounter during an appearance on the "7 PM in Brooklyn" podcast, revealing that the encounter did not go as envisioned by most people.
"I mean we play SFG, Bryce's (James) team," Anthony said. "They were trying to see me versus Bryce James but they got a top-five player on their team named Brayden Burries, he's from LA so we played him and he had like 35, but he was guarding me and I had like 20-something, and he had like 30-something. That's how I knew, 'cause he's top five and we almost beat them and they're one of the best teams."
Anthony emerged from the 2024 Peach Jam with a lot of credit and was recently named the No. 1 player in New York in the 2025 cycle. He also climbed up the prospect's rankings from No. 62 to No. 40 overall on ESPN 100.
While Bryce James is playing his cards close to his vest with his preferred schools, Kiyan Anthony already revealed the six schools that he is considering for his future, including his father's alma mater, the Syracuse Orange, where he has built up multiple connections.
