Cameron Boozer led Nightrydas Elite to a historic third consecutive Peach Jam Championship victory. Boozer has been the pillar of the success of his team in the tournament, and in the finals on Sunday he displayed the same strength.
Boozer registered 19 points,10 rebounds and five assists as Nightrydas Elite defeated Oakland Soldiers 71-62. AJ Dybantsa led the fightback for the Soldiers, scoring 25 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds.
Cameron Boozer averaged 20.4 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the tournament. Elite faced tough teams in its march to the finals, but Boozer made it look easy for the team, as he did previously at 15U and 16U levels.
The son of two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer wanted the success to be seen as a team effort. After winning the EYBL championship game, Boozer shared how proud he was of his teammates while talking to the media:
"This group has been together a long time and our goal, always, is to win. I'm so proud of my teammates. Everyone chipped in and we played our asses off. If you want to win, you have to get the entire team involved, it's not just about you. I know they were trying to play me tight and I knew guys coming off screens were going to be open because of the spacing."
Cameron Boozer played beside his brother Cayden Boozer for Nightrydas Elite in the tournament. The two were instrumental in winning gold for Team USA in the U17 FIBA World Cup in Istanbul.
