The No. 1 Auburn Tigers are all set for the SEC Battle of the Year as they play the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. Ahead of the ESPN College GameDay clash, Instagram account @aldotcomtigers caught up with Tigers players for their thoughts on the game.

When asked to give a message to fans, a hyped-up Chad Baker-Mazara said:

"Let's get it now. Come on now. Ya'll already know this. Top 10 match up, so it can't get more exciting than that one for real."

Baker-Mazara is the second-leading scorer for Auburn, averaging 13.1 points. 3.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game.

After an incredible run last season, Auburn's hopes were dashed in the first round of the NCAA tournament, as they lost 78-76 to Yale. With that, coach Bruce Pearl and his team are back with a renewed hunger for a better postseason run.

The Tigers' 2019 Final Four run was the furthest they've played in March Madness. This may be the year it all changes.

Auburn coach Bruce Pearl shares thoughts on the high-profile clash against Tennessee

The Auburn Tigers occupy the top spot in the SEC standings with a 17-1 overall record and 5-0 in conference play.

The game against the Volunteers is hosted at the Tigers' Neville Arena. Coach Bruce Pearl commented on the incredible buildup the game has garnered.

“It speaks to the incredible home-court advantage we have at Neville Arena,” Pearl said.
“The best home-court advantage in all of college basketball, thanks to the Auburn family. I’m happy for our players, who have worked so hard to get that visibility. Happy for our student body and our university as well.”

Saturday's tip-off is not just another regular one, as it's the Tigers’ annual AUTLIVE game. It's in support of creating awareness about early detection of cancer, and all proceeds from the T-shirt sales will go toward supporting cancer patients.

“The best way to outlive cancer is to detect it early,” Pearl said. “One hundred percent of everything that comes into our foundation goes back to patients battling cancer. By giving to AUTLIVE, you’re going to be helping somebody directly.”

Talking about their game plan for the day, Bruce Pearl spotlighted Dylan Cardwell, who has been helping the Tigers in the absence of Johni Broome.

“Dylan Cardwell impacts winning in a huge, huge way,” Pearl said.
“He’s the best defender in our league. He does it on the inside, he does it on the perimeter. Defense and rebounding win championships, and we’ve got the best in our league.”

The game against Tennessee is scheduled at 8:30 P.M. EST.
