Kiyan Anthony has been in the spotlight as of late. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard, who plays for Long Island Lutheran High School, is ranked as the top recruit in New York State for the class of 2025 and 40th overall by ESPN.
Kiyan is preparing for his senior year at LuHi and already has several top collegiate offers on the table. Some of the best programs in the country, including Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, Rutgers, USC and his dad's alma mater, Syracuse, have indicated their interest in the prospect, as per 247Sports.
Kiyan is the only child of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony and actress Alani Nicole "La La" Anthony. He took a liking to basketball at an early age, following in his father's footsteps. The prodigy began turning heads when he played at Christ the King Regional High School in Queens in his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Before his junior year, Kiyan transferred to Long Island Lutheran High School in Brooklyn, New York, where he established himself as one of the top players in the 2025 class before long. Earlier this year in June, he impressed at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, recording a game-high 42 points in one contest and 35 points in another, all while his father, Carmelo, was in the audience.
Kiyan Anthony narrows his list of colleges to six programs
In an interview with On3 last week, Kiyan said that he narrowed down his list to six college programs for his future. The high school senior selected Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, Rutgers, Syracuse and USC as his preferred choices.
In a previous interview, Kiyan Anthony described what he's looking for in a college program:
“I’m looking for good coaching, and I want to play for a good team. I want to win. I feel like all the schools that I am talking to have a winning culture. I’ll want to go somewhere that is family-oriented too. Fast-paced, an offense that spreads the floor and keys in on versatility and guard play." [H/T On3]
Kiyan Anthony visited Florida State and Syracuse in October last year. He plans to revisit Syracuse and meet with his remaining options before making his final decision.
