Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony, is a promising young basketball player who made a huge splash on social media after being ranked as the No. 1 prospect in New York. ESPN unveiled its ranking via social media on Wednesday.

Kiyan's mother, La La Anthony, excited by the news, shared the post by ESPN on her Instagram story with a heartfelt message.

"The hard work and dedication this kid puts in is like nothing I've ever seen before BUT what's most important is he's humble & kind & grateful. Love you to the moon and back! I'll forever be ur #1 fan @kiyananthony," La La wrote in her story.

Kiyan and La La returned from their trip to Japan this week, where the duo visited several historical landmarks in Tokyo and Kyoto.

The brief vacation came after the Nike EYBL Peach Jam, where Kiyan showed his true potential playing for his AAU team, Team Melo. He averaged 21.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in the tournament.

Additionally, the 6-foot-5 guard is ranked 40th overall in the ESPN 100, is the ninth-best player in his position, the seventh-best prospect regionally and No. 1 in New York. Kiyan trimmed down his list of potential colleges to six on July 25: Auburn, Syracuse, Florida State, Ohio State, USC and Rutgers.

Kiyan Anthony on the possibility of playing against Bronny James in NBA

Kiyan Anthony, a Denver, Colorado, native, played against Bronny James during high school basketball. A two-year senior to Kiyan, Bronny will play in the NBA this season after the LA Lakers picked him in the 2024 draft.

On his dad Carmelo's '7PM in Brooklyn' podcast, Kiyan talked about his reaction to Bronny getting drafted.

"It was fire," Kiyan Anthony said. "Just to know that he started it, and I got a chance to like follow, not follow him, but get to where he's at in the league. That's fire. I texted him everything. We was on the phone. That's really fire. Especially him playing with his pops. That's so crazy to me."
"We could play against each other like we played in high school. I was only a freshman and he was a senior but now that we could get to the league and play against each other that, its crazy to just think about."

Kiyan Anthony will play his final year of high school basketball at Long Island Lutheran this coming season. He was transferred from Christ the King High School in Queens in 2023.
