Kiyan Anthony appeared on the "Sloane Knows" podcast last week, where he was asked to name the five best players he’s played against in high school or AAU. The incoming senior has been a standout at Long Island Lutheran High School for the past four years while also playing for his father, Carmelo Anthony's Nike EYBL team, Team Melo.

While saying that this was not in any particular order, Kiyan shared the names of the players he thought were the best.

"I would say, Cooper Flagg," he began. "Who else did I play? Bronny James, V. J. Edgecombe, he was my teammate last year. Boogie Fland, and I would say, Dior Johnson." (From 09:24)

Having played in two different formats of basketball, Kiyan Anthony was asked to name the differences between them, and he said:

"I feel like high school is a little bit more situated. In high school, you gonna run a lot of plays. It may not be like one best player on the team. I feel like AAU, people are coming to the game to see maybe one or two people. So like the showcase players and like the showcase games.
"People don't really care about what team you're on, if you're winning or losing. They just want to see whoever they're coming to watch. Have a good game. So that's what I feel like."

Kiyan Anthony defends his friend Bryce James and throws the spotlight on him

With Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James playing for the Los Angeles Lakers for one season, friendship between their sons seems inevitable. Kiyan Anthony is rumored to follow Bronny James to USC, as it is one of his top six choices.

He shared in an interview that he took inspiration from Bronny's journey to the NBA and promised to follow him. In the interview with host Sloane Knows, Anthony defended Bryce James and hoped more people would pay attention to him.

“I feel Bryce James could get a little more recognition when it comes to offers and stuff like that," Anthony said. "Him being who he is, people think everything is given to him but he actually works hard. I feel like he deserves a bit more when it comes to that type of stuff.”

The two guards are on the cusp of important college decisions. While Kiyan Anthony is set to choose from six schools, including his father's alma mater, Syracuse, Bryce James has reportedly received offers from Ohio State and Duquesne.
