Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan Anthony has been garnering attention. Given his tremendous development as a player and his basketball skills at such a young age, he has already been dubbed as a future NBA star.
Kiyan, a senior guard at Long Island Lutheran High, participated in various events and camps like Nike Peach Jam and SLAM Summer Classic during summer.
On Monday, the 6-foot-5 athlete appeared on "SloaneKnows: NEXT," where he discussed his experience so far playing on the high school and AAU circuits. The show's host, Sloane, also asked him about his evolution as a player.
"I would say just when I first started playing I was strictly a shooter. I was just catching shoot but now it's just like everything, I get foul, I go to the basket, midrange, I could shoot still," Kiyan said.
"So I feel like just expanding my game in that way just trying to find other ways to score and stuff." [Time Stamp - 15:43]
Kiyan Anthony also mentioned that his favorite part of the game is scoring.
"Definitely scoring," he said. "The way that I could score and the way like how many times I can score, how many points I could score like that's my favorite part for sure."
Kiyan Anthony reveals his summer workout routine
Kiyan Anthony, son of 10-time NBA All-Star Carmelo, reflects his father's dedication and passion for basketball.
In an interview on the "SloaneKnows: NEXT" show, Kiyan discussed the rigorous training regimen he followed in the summer.
"Summer workouts definitely two times a day in the gym whether it's lifting weights or on a basketball court," Kiyan said. "I don't really wake up that early. I still wake up at like 10 or 11, go to the gym, might rest for a little bit, play the game and then back to the gym in the night time so that's like my little summer."
"During the school year, just school and then practice. You might lift and then do the same thing every day."
Kiyan Anthony holds offers from six different schools, which he narrowed down, including Syracuse, Rutgers, Ohio State, USC, Florida State and Auburn.
He visited Syracuse and Florida State in October and will visit the remaining schools this fall. After finishing his college visits, Kiyan will make a final decision ahead of the upcoming basketball season.
