Kiyan Anthony, the son of former NBA star Carmelo Anthony, has received an offer from the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The shooting guard from Long Island Lutheran High School has been outstanding during the Nike EYBL Peach Jam.
Anthony has played in three games thus far and has dominated. On Monday, against Mac Irvin Fire, he went 15-of-19 from the floor for 40 points. On Tuesday, he announced on social media that he received an offer to play for the Scarlet Knights.
While this does not mean that he will be playing there as he has not committed to any program, this team has been one of the top in recruiting during the Class of 2024.
Rutgers are ranked ninth in the nation, according to 247 Sports. Five players have signed their national letter of intent (NLI) to the program for this upcoming college basketball season.
- Forward Ace Bailey
- Guard Dylan Harper
- Forward Lathan Sommerville
- Forward Bryce Dortch
- Forward Dylan Grant
These could be some of Kiyan Anthony's teammates in college basketball if he were to be part of the Class of 2025 for the Scarlet Knights.
How well will Kiyan Anthony do in college basketball?
While a lot of college basketball depends on circumstances and the talent around one player, Kiyan Anthony has proven to be a dominant player wherever he plays. In the three games of the EYBL Peach Jam, he has shot 50.0% from the floor and 41.2% from beyond the arc.
It is clear that Anthony has one of the better shooting strokes in the Class of 2025, and many college programs will try to get him to join their program. There is a lot to be excited about and it should not be long until he figures out where he will be playing college basketball.
He will not be part of any college team this season but as one of the top players in the Class of 2025, he should be able to dominate college basketball.
