Carmelo Anthony’s son Kiyan Anthony is currently busy with his recruitment and college visits. His next scheduled visit will be to USC, the alma mater of LeBron James' son Bronny James.
Kiyan Anthony, the best high school prospect of the 2025 class from New York, has already visited Syracuse and Florida State in October last year. He narrowed down his list to six schools in June which include USC, Syracuse, Florida State, Ohio State, Auburn and Rutgers.
This fall, Anthony plans to visit the remaining college programs on his list including USC, which he was initially scheduled to visit this September. However, 247Sports basketball analyst Dushawn London reported that Kiyan's trip there is now scheduled on October 4-6.
Many have compared the Long Island Lutheran star to his friend Bronny James, who also played at USC for a season. Kiyan was impressed by Bronny's success story going from the NCAA to the NBA in just one year.
During an appearance on the "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast in August, Kiyan shared his reaction to Bronny getting drafted by the LA Lakers.
"[5:47] It was fire," Anthony said. "Just to know that he started it, and I got a chance to follow, not follow him, but get to where he's at in the league. That's fire. I texted him everything. We was on the phone. That's really fire. Especially him playing with his pops. That's so crazy to me."
Kiyan Anthony eyes second visit to Syracuse
Kiyan Anthony has shared his interest in making another visit to his father's alma mater, Syracuse. In an interview with Brandon Robinson of "Scoop B Radio" in August, he discussed the possibility of following his father's footsteps by joining the Orange. Carmelo played a season at Syracuse and led them to the national championship title in 2003.
Robinson asked Kiyan about his first visit and what it was like to see his dad's college.
"It was definitely crazy," Anthony said. "Everything with my dad, everything named after him out everything like that. So looking forward to taking a second visit and then nobody knows, I might could go there."
Kiyan understands the pressure and big shoes he needs to fill. For now, he will make his visits and it will be interesting to see which school he will commit to.
