Charlotte vs. Miami tipped off on Friday at noon ET. The Miami Hurricanes (5-0) hosted the Charlotte 49ers (3-3) looking to stay undefeated after winning their first five games to start the season.
The Hurricanes were coming off a narrow 71–66 victory over Campbell on Friday. The 49ers were coming off a dominant 83–67 win over Gardner-Webb last Thursday.
Before the game started, it was not expected to be a close game. According to ESPN Analytics, Miami was projected to win this game 97.4% of the time. Both teams had at least a week off before this game to rest and recover.
However, it did not look like a dominant performance from Miami early as the 49ers jumped out to a 20–18 lead in the first quarter. The game stayed close in the second as Charlotte took a 36–35 lead into halftime.
