No. 4-ranked South Carolina blew out Purdue 99-51 in the Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off on Saturday. Junior forward Chloe Kitts delivered a strong performance in 15 minutes of play, going perfect from the field and the free-throw line to finish with 12 points, marking her fourth double-digit scoring game this season.

The 6-foot-2 star opened the scoring for the Gamecocks with a 3-point play 30 seconds into the game. She also tallied a block on Purdue’s Rashunda Jones, two offensive rebounds, a jumper and three free throws before the end of the period.

In the second quarter, Kitts contributed early by stealing the ball from Purdue's Kendall Puryear and grabbing two defensive rebounds. However, the Florida native saw limited action for the remainder of the half, registering just one turnover.

In the second half, scored a layup off Raven Johnson’s assist to extend the Gamecocks' lead to 60-20 in the third quarter. Kitts also sank a jumper assisted by Te-Hina Paopao.

South Carolina maintained a lead of no less than 45 points throughout the fourth quarter, cruising to their second straight win following last Sunday’s upset loss to UCLA..

Chloe Kitts helps South Carolina overwhelm Purdue to second straight win after loss to UCLA

South Carolina dismantled Purdue 99-51 in the Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off on Saturday, securing their second consecutive victory since the loss to UCLA last weekend.

MiLaysia Fulwiley led the Gamecocks with 14 points, while Ashlyn Watkins and Tessa Johnson added 13 each. Chloe Kitts and Bree Hall chipped in 12 apiece, Joyce Edwards tallied 11 and Maddy McDaniel rounded out the balanced effort with 10 points.

The Gamecocks dominated from the start, finishing with 30 offensive rebounds, 13 steals and eight blocks. Purdue managed to tie the game at 10-10 in the first quarter, but following a timeout, the Gamecocks went on a 13-2 run and never relinquished control.

By halftime, South Carolina held a commanding 53-18 lead, which grew to 78-31 after three quarters. They ultimately handed Purdue one of the worst losses in the program's history.

Next, the Gamecocks will aim to extend their winning streak when they face No. 13 Duke on Friday.
