Coach Prime's ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, made her way to support her daughter Shelomi Sanders during her recent college basketball game. She transferred to Alabama A&M after spending one season with the Colorado Buffaloes, and her mother has been one of her strongest support systems during this transition.
Shelomi Sanders got limited playing time during her stint with the Buffs. Now at the HBCU level, she is looking to make a name for herself and follow her passion just like her brothers and future NFL stars Shedeur and Shilo. During her team's recent showdown against Texas Southern, Pilar Sanders attended the game to support her daughter on the court.
In a video Pilar Sanders shared on Instagram, she flexed her gameday fit for the Alabama A&M vs Texas Southern game. She wore her daughter's jersey number on a t-shirt and paired it with an all-black attire along with black heels and a black handbag.
While Shelomi Sanders had her mother's support at the game, Alabama A&M unfortunately lost 75-65 to the Texas Southern Tigers. She did not get a lot of playing time during this showdown and managed to record just one point for her team. So far in her debut campaign with the program, Coach Prime's youngest daughter has averaged 1.5 points. 0.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.
When Shelomi initially planned on transferring from Colorado, Deion Sanders was not impressed with the decision and called it 'stupid' during a podcast. However, according to her during an interview with NBC Sports, she has made peace with Coach Prime, and both of them have formed an understanding between them.
"You know, he's my dad and he's also a coach, so I think that's why he kind of just had a reaction like that," Shelomi said. "But we handled and discussed things behind closed doors so it's all good now," (TS-6:20 onwards)
Coach Prime visited Shelomi Sanders at Alabama A&M
Pilar Sanders is not the only one attending her daughter's games. After leading the Buffs to a 9-4 campaign in the 2024 season, Deion Sanders also took the time to attend Shelomi's basketball game at the Events Center last week.
In a video posted on social media, we see Coach Prime sitting on the courtside watching the Alabama A&M vs Alabama State rivalry showdown. His presence must have been a lucky charm for the team because they emerged victorious with a 54-47 final score.
Coach Prime also took several pictures with his daughter and posted them on social media, indicating the bond they share. After the game, he also greeted the Alabama A&M players in the locker room and congratulated them on their hard-fought victory.
