Coach Prime was on hand to praise his daughter Shelomi Sanders' top performance for Alabama A&M.

Shelomi Sanders' impressive debut for the Alabama A&M Bulldogs in an exhibition game on Monday earned her high praise from her father, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Coach Prime, the coach of the Colorado Buffaloes' football program, celebrated his youngest child, urging her to remind everyone of who exactly she is, on Wednesday.

"Don't ever stop letting them know you're a Sanders," Coach Prime posted.

Coach Prime also shared a separate post on Instagram shortly after, sharing a kind message along with a top moment from her maiden outing as a Bulldog.

"I’m so PROUD OF U BABYGIRL & that at the end let’s them know that you’re a $ANDERS! Daboo Daboo Daboo," Sanders wrote.

Shelomi Sanders did not start for Alabama A&M Bulldogs in their exhibition game against the Oakwood Ambassadors on Monday in Huntsville. She made the most of her opportunity off the bench, scoring 14 points and recording two steals, an assist and a rebound in just 10 minutes.

Why did Shelomi Sanders transfer from Colorado to Alabama A&M?

Shelomi enjoyed a fairly successful high school basketball career, representing Sachse High in 2019 and Rockwall Heath High from 2019 to 2022. She earned all-district second-team honors in her junior season and all-district first-team honors as a senior.

Shelomi committed to the Jackson State Tigers for her freshman season but moved to the Colorado Buffaloes, following her father and her two brothers, Shedeur and Shilo, who all made the move. She did not take any further part in the 2022-23 season after moving to CU midway through the season.

After appearing in just five games in her sophomore season, Shelomi entered the transfer portal. In an Instagram Live on August 11, Shelomi said she talked about leaving the school.

"For me, I would say, yeah, last year during the beginning where I just came home sad every day," said Sanders. "I was sad and mad like every day. That and when I was at Jackson, like, if I didn't leave when I did, I promise you I would have quit."

Shelomi Sanders will be hoping to turn a new leaf in her junior season at Alabama A&M. The Bulldogs begin the 2024-25 season with a home game against the Alabama Crimson Tide at 8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.
