UConn Huskies guard Paige Bueckers was featured on the cover of Highsnobiety magazine. She posted the images to her Instagram, where she is seen sporting casual street-style looks in a pastel color palette.
"Helloooo fashion world 👋🏼 So blessed and grateful to @HighSnobiety for this opportunity to share a little bit of my story through a new fashion statement. Of course thank you to @bhampton and everyone else who played a part in making this happen🫶🏼," she wrote in the caption.
Bueckers' cover drew reactions from 2023 US Open-winning tennis player Coco Gauff and actress Storm Reid. Both celebrities commented with the heart-eye emoji. Meanwhile, her UConn teammates also left comments.
"Ate them up," Aubrey Griffin wrote.
"OUCH MAMA," KK Arnold commented.
"Oop not too much," Aaliyah Edwards wrote.
"KILLED THIS," former UConn and now-Connecticut Sun player Olivia Nelson-Ododa wrote.
Paige Bueckers speaks on the importance of sharing the center stage
When Paige Bueckers started college in 2020, she was expected to become a prominent figure in college basketball. However, due to some injuries and her absence from the game, she had to step back. During that time, Caitlin Clark became the face of the league.
Now, with Clark playing in the WNBA, Bueckers is ready to take the spotlight. Nevertheless, she has emphasized on multiple occasions that she prefers to share the spotlight with other players.
“I think it's really important to show all the stars, all the people who have paved the way, all the people who are playing right now, and all the people to come in the future," Bueckers said in an interview with Highsnobiety.
"The focus should be showing how talented these women are and how much they dedicate their minds, their bodies, and a lot of their time to be great at their sport,” she added.
“I feel like my purpose in life is to use my platform to try and help this world to become a better place. I know I'm not gonna change the world by myself, but I will do my part."
Paige Bueckers is potentially preparing for her final season with the UConn Huskies and has high hopes of winning a championship. She is projected to be picked first overall in the 2025 WNBA draft.
