Kyle Filipowski, who announced his decision to enter the 2024 NBA draft and forgo the remainder of his college eligibility, has been in a relationship with fiancee Caitlin Hutchinson since high school. They recently celebrated their first anniversary and have since settled in Durham. Caitlin, an executive assistant at Intelerand Medical Systems, often shares photos with Kyle on her Instagram.

Yesterday, Caitlin shared a lighthearted video with the seemingly amped-up athlete, where both of them appeared to be enjoying a cold drink together. She wrote a funny caption, referring to Filipowski as:

"Cold one w an angry bird."

Caitlin publicly marked the inception of their relationship with a heartfelt post in 2022, with the caption:

"My ❤️"

She is the daughter of Amanda and Kevin Hutchinson. Her father, a U.S. Army veteran, transitioned to a career as a sports coach, while her mother was a homemaker.

Duke Kyle Filipowski’s draft projection

College Sports Wire reports that in the mock draft, Filipowski is predicted to be selected as the 12th overall pick by Oklahoma City, where he would fill the role of a floor-spacing big man. Other potential suitors for the athlete include the Portland Trail Blazers, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic and Milwaukee Bucks.

His impressive 2023-24 stats line includes 16.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.1 steals per game, with a shooting percentage of 50.5% on two-pointers and 34.8% from beyond the arc.

While he may not be considered an elite 3-point shooter, some draft analysts suggest that the Cleveland Cavaliers might be interested in selecting him with the 20th pick to complement center Evan Mobley, according to Keenan Womack, a writer for Sports Illustrated.

Filipowski was honored with the 2024 Swett-Baylin Most Valuable Player award at his team's end-of-season banquet. Nonetheless, he became just the fourth player in conference history to be named ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Tournament MVP in the same season, and the second player from Duke, following in the footsteps of Zion Williamson in 2019.
