College hoops fans have mixed reactions as JuJu Watkins helps maintain 11-game USC win streak: "Maryland gave her problems. Still got the job done"

JuJu Watkins and the No. 4 USC Trojans overcame a late scare against No. 8 Maryland to come away with a 79-74 victory on the road. Watkins managed to score 21 points despite fouling out late in the game.

Through 16 games this season, the 6-foot-2 sophomore guard has scored 20 points or more in every game except one against Cal Poly. Her consistency has helped keep the Trojans rolling, with USC extending its win streak to 11 games after the win over the Terrapins.

Watkins' performance at XFINITY Center elicited a mix of reactions from college basketball fans on X (formerly Twitter). Some were impressed with her impact while others felt she struggled with her efficiency.

While on the surface, JuJu Watkins' stat line of 21 points and nine rebounds looks impressive, a closer look reveals she struggled with her efficiency, going 7-of-19 (36.8%) from the field and 1-of-5 (20%) from the 3-point range.

The Los Angeles native also committed eight turnovers — tied for a season-high and fouled out late in the fourth quarter, forcing USC to finish the game without its top scorer.
