Basketball trainer Chris Brickley shared clips of potential future NBA stars Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper putting work in at the Chris Brickley Invitational, asking fans who'll be a better pro on Instagram on Monday. The unanimous result in the comments was Flagg, with some adding racing flag emojis to their comments.

Cooper Flagg leading the charge at Duke

Cooper Flagg and the Duke men’s basketball team (12-2, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) are starting the new year strong.

The No. 4 Blue Devils extended their winning streak to eight games with victories over ACC rivals Virginia Tech and Southern Methodist University. This week, they’ll face Pittsburgh and Notre Dame as conference play continues.

Flagg has been a standout player all season, leading Duke in points, rebounds, assists and blocks. Last week, he delivered back-to-back 24-point games. In the 88-65 win over Virginia Tech, he added six assists and four steals, while in the 89-62 victory over SMU, he secured a double-double with 24 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks, going a perfect 8-for-8 at the free-throw line.

Reflecting on his growth, Flagg credited the team’s improvement.

"As we’ve gotten more comfortable as a team, we’ve come together more," he said. "Our offense has sharpened up, and that’s helped me. Guys like Tyrese (Proctor) and Kon (Knueppel) create opportunities that open things up for me."

Duke coach Jon Scheyer expressed admiration for Flagg’s incredible start to the season, particularly noting his achievements as a 17-year-old who reclassified to join the team early.

"It’s remarkable what he’s doing," Scheyer said after the Virginia Tech game. "He’s been the No. 1 guy on scouting reports and has played every game at a high level. Over the break, I told him he still has more to give, and he’s showing that. We should all appreciate that he came to Duke a year early — what he brings to this team is extraordinary."

Cooper Flagg and the Blue Devils will host the Pittsburgh Panthers (12-2, 3-0) on Monday night at Cameron Indoor.
