The LSU Lady Tigers' women's basketball team attended their school's football game against UCLA on Saturday. Tigers coach Kim Mulkey was spotted alongside star player Flau'jae Johnson while heading to the seating area. Known for her no-nonsense coaching style and vibrant fashion sense, Mulkey played it cool this time.
While cheering for her university, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer wore a denim dress with little makeup. The simple and flowy dress was a big change from her usual dazzling and lively game-day outfits.
When fans saw her outfit, they couldn't stop themselves from reacting.
"Kim and that dress combo go together real bad," a fan commented on X.
"Kobe and Phil Jack leading the way," another user wrote.
"Kim Mulkey loves a Jean dress," another fan commented.
There were fans who were happy to see Mulkey attend the football game.
"I love that the teams attend each other’s games," a fan said.
"Family supports family at LSU," another one said.
"The only good coach at LSU has arrived," another one chimed in.
Kim Mulkey to host an official visit for five-star recruit
Kim Mulkey and the LSU Lady Tigers host five-star forward Ayla McDowell this weekend. McDowell is a top-25 national prospect.
McDowell will speak with Mulkey and her assistants during their upcoming visit. During her trip, the touted prospect can also get a feel for campus and athletic life at the SEC powerhouse.
LSU also recently held an in-home visit for Bella Hines, a top-25 recruit who committed to the Tigers in April. Mulkey also conducted a home visit with top-10 recruit Grace Knox.
While talking about her recruiting style, Mulkey said:
"I think as we grow as a staff, I don’t care about numbers in front of kids’ names. There are so many overrated kids, then you watch those that don’t have a number in front of their names, and they have great careers. I’m more into doing our homework, seeing who we like and let’s go after them and quickly eliminate those we don’t have a shot at."
With new talents incoming, the LSU Tigers look to return to the national title game this season.
