Connor McCaffery's younger brother Jack McCaffery reacted to Efeosa Oliogu, a four-star small forward, committing to Butler. Oliogu announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on Monday, joining coach Thad Matta's 2025 recruiting class.

Tipton Edits posted an Instagram graphic announcing Oliogu's commitment. He is the No. 125-ranked player in the class according to 247Sports.

In the comments, Jack McCaffery, the younger brother of the Bulldogs assistant coach Connor McCaffery, left a two-word reaction.

"Oh yesssuhhhh," the comment read.

The younger McCaffery, who plays for West Senior High School in Iowa, is part of Butler's 2025 recruiting class as well. He committed to Butler back in July last year and signed his letter of intent in the early signing period in November.

Speaking with On3, the Ontario, Canada native, discussed his decision to attend Butler.

"I chose Butler University because when I went there right away I felt like I was at home," Efeosa said. "The community there isn’t too big but they will definitely make you feel like you belong. Basketball wise and school wise, I love how they run things over there."
"Coach Matta and his staff were definitely very important in my decision-making. The system they run there is definitely somewhere where I can see myself develop not only basketball wise but as a person as well."

Butler suffering their worst record in decades in Connor McCaffery's first season as an assistant

Connor McCaffery joined Butler's coaching staff in September 2024 after serving as a development coordinator for the NBA's Indiana Pacers. His brother, Patrick McCaffery, a former Iowa graduate senior, also transferred to the Bulldogs for the 2024-25 season.

However, the season has not gone as planned for Butler, as they are 7-10 overall and have not won a Big East game yet with a 0-6 league record. Saturday's 80-76 loss to Creighton marked the program's 9th consecutive defeat.

If they lose their next three games, the Bulldogs will tie the all-time program record for 12 straight losses, which was set 44 years ago during the 1989-90 season.

Patrick McCaffery, a 6-foot-9 forward, has contributed 13.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game this season.

Thad Matta and his staff, including Connor McCaffery, will try to end this daunting streak against another struggling opponent, Seton Hall (6-10, 1-4 Big East). Butler hosts the Pirates on Wednesday before flying to Hartford to face the defending champion UConn next Tuesday.
