Draft analyst praised Cooper Flagg after the 42-point game
Cooper Flagg delivered his best-ever college performance on Saturday, posting 42 points (78.6% shooting) against Notre Dame. He also set the Atlantic Coast Conference record for most points by a freshman, surpassing RJ Barret and Zion Williamson.
On Monday, NBA draft analyst Jonathan Givony discussed Flagg's intensity, drive, skillsets and competitiveness.
"Yeah, the skill is incredible but the competitiveness, the intensity, the aggressiveness, he has no off switch," Givony said on ESPN's NBA Today. (1:28)
"This guy is a total a** kicker. Everything he does is full speed 110%. He has a different mentality than most guys and he is going to be a difference maker from day one on a bad team because it's infectious, the way that he practices and the way that he plays."
Despite the heightened intensity and stakes of the ACC play, Flagg has maintained a steady climb in his numbers. He averages 23.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in conference games while shooting above 55.0%.
