LSU Tigers college women's basketball assistant coach Seimone Augustus shared a hilarious conversation with star player Flau'Jae Johnson on Instagram. The discussion centered on who would beat the other player if Johnson had played against Augustus in her playing days.
Augustus shared a photo of herself having a conversation with Johnson on the court, with the caption:

Johnson and her mom, Kia Brooks, found the post hilarious and made their comments alongside other college hoop fans.

Seimone Augustus is a former LSU basketball player who averaged 19.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and two assists per game in her collegiate career. She led LSU to three straight Final Four appearances during her playing days.
She also won the Naismith College Player of the Year, Wooden Award and Wade Trophy in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Her jersey number 33 was retired by LSU on Jan 9, 2010, making her the first LSU player to be conferred the honor.
Seimone Augustus amuses Flau'Jae Johnson with reaction to NIL deals
Seimone Augustus made her feelings clear on what she thought about Name Image and Likeness (NIL) deals for college athletes. The LSU assistant coach appeared on the podcast Best of Both Worlds with Flau'Jae and said she would have earned millions of dollars if the deals had existed during her collegiate career.
""I would have got paid I don't know what the highest is but I would have got paid. I would have really been considering if I was even going to the league," Augustus said.
Augustus's outstanding collegiate career made her a No. 1 overall pick during the 2006 WNBA draft when she joined Minnesota Lynx. She played in the league from 2006 to 2019 and was part of the Lynx team that won four WNBA titles in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017.
Seimone Augustus was named the 2017 Finals MVP. After 2019, she signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Sparks, where she served as an assistant coach before rejoining LSU in a similar role in 2024.
