UConn coach Dan Hurley issued an update on the calf injury of UConn freshman Liam McNeeley.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Wednesday game against the Sacred Heart Pioneers, Hurley shared positive updates about the condition of the team's new signing.

"Liam looks pretty good for it. He's been in since the weekend. He's looked good and he's feeling great. He's been able to get into multiple days in the live practice."

McNeeley suffered the lower calf strain initially in a practice last October. He was given a timetable of two weeks to recover and the rookie appears to have fully recovered.

Ahead of the regular season, McNeeley was able to get a starting spot in the Huskies' exhibition game against Rhode Island, where he contributed 10 points, four rebounds and three assists in the 102-75 win.

McNeeley is a 6-foot-7 forward from Montverde Academy and was touted as the #9 prospect out of the 2024 high school class. Ahmad Nowell and Isaiah Abraham also joined McNeeley in signing for the Huskies.

Fellow starts Solo Ball, Samson Johnson and Alex Karaban also combined for 45 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists and nine blocks while Tarris Reed Jr. produced 15 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.

The Huskies are the current NCAA men's division champions, and they are looking hungrier this season as they aim for the highly coveted three-peat under coach Dan Hurley.

UConn face New Hampshire (Saturday), Le Moyne (Nov. 13), Texas A&M Commerce (Nov. 19), and Memphis (Nov. 25).
