Dan Hurley and Geno Auriemma have been heading the college basketball program in the men's and women's games for the UConn Huskies. They decided to collaborate as Hurley dropped a truth on his playing career.
UConn uploaded a video featuring the two coaching stars on their YouTube channel on Wednesday. They sat down in a roundtable conversation to give fans an exclusive look into how the coaches built their legendary careers.
The video began with Auriemma asking Hurley if he knew he wanted to be a head coach at a young age. Hurley said no, saying it happened during his playing career at Seton Hall (1991-96) when he faced then-Georgetown star and NBA legend Allen Iverson.
"No. When [Allen] Iverson scored 39 points on me in college, that's when I said to myself, 'I'm probably going to be a coach,'" Dan Hurley replied at 0:07.
