UConn coach Dan Hurley landed a major commitment on Monday as four-star recruit Darius Adams chose the Huskies over offers from Michigan State and Tennessee.

Adams is the No. 19 ranked player in the 2025 class and is an important addition to Hurley's 2025-26 roster.

UConn Huskies fans were excited about the news and shared their thoughts in the comments section.

After back-to-back championships, the Huskies will look to further extend their reign. They would be the first team since UCLA and coach John Wooden (1967-1973) to achieve a three-peat if they win the championship again next season.

Darius Adams is Hurley's first commitment for the 2025-26 season. NBC Sports' Rob Cassidy described him as one of the most reliable shooters in the 2025 class, with a wide shooting range.

"Adams possesses a number of translatable skills that should result in more consistent production as he beefs up, as he has the quickness, length and motor to be solid positional rebounder in addition to his gifts as a shooter and a ball handler," Cassidy wrote on Monday.

In addition to Adams, Dan Hurley is also looking to add a few more guards as the recruiting season progresses.

Along with UConn, Darius Adams also made official visits to Michigan State and Tennessee. During his announcement with 247Sports and CBS Sports on Monday, Adams said he enjoyed being with the players and coaching staff at UConn and praised coach Dan Hurley.

"It was never like I didn't want to be around them, it never got boring," Adams said. "I really wanted to stay there, I really wanted to practice. It’s close to home and the coaches, I love being around them. Seeing practice, I really liked it. I want to be pushed hard, I want to earn something, so I think I will do that there.”
“Everyone has the same goal there. They want to get better, and I want to put myself in that position. (Hurley) makes his players better, the way he gets his players open is just amazing. I’m excited for it.”
