Dan Hurley’s wife Andrea shares Christmas card with pictures from 2024 NCAA title, walk with Joe Biden at White House and more

Amid UConn men's basketball team's quest for a 3-peat in the 2024-25 campaign, Huskies coach Dan Hurley's wife Andrea shared heartwarming Christmas wishes to fans on Instagram.

The post, which was made on Dec. 29, showed the Hurleys' Christmas card featuring the Hurleys' family photo. It also had UConn's two national championship titles, the Huskies team and Hurley's walk with President Joe Biden at the White House. It ended with the family's 'Happy Holidays' and 'New Year' message.

Dan Hurley and his wife, Andrea, have been married since 1997. The pair have two children together – Danny Hurley and Andrew Hurley, who plays college basketball under his father's tutelage at UConn.

Although Andrea has “zero interest in the game,” she is her husband's biggest supporter and is known for being a second mom to the college men's basketball team.

Dan Hurley's UConn stay on campus over holiday break, packed January ahead

The Christmas holiday is ongoing, but Dan Hurley and his UConn team made a collective decision to stay on campus over the holiday. Apart from getting Dec. 22 to 24 off, none of the athletes would be going home for a break.

“It’s tough, it’s really hard for these guys,” Hurley said, per UConn Blog. “Even something as simple as having the game the other day, which is a brutal loss, but not having your typical family that you can huddle up with and friends that can give you that pick me up.”

The team's schedule included having a meal together on Christmas Eve and a socially distant holiday celebration with family on Christmas Day after practice.

UConn suffered a series of early setbacks, including a dramatic overtime loss to Memphis and a crushing defeat to Dayton at the Maui Invitational. This faltered the Huskies' quest for a third consecutive national title.

However, the team rallied back and reestablished themselves as the powerhouse in the Big East, sitting at 10-3 and ranked 11th in the latest AP Poll.

UConn also leads the Big East and is now 16th in the NCAA Men’s Basketball NET Rankings. As the 2024-25 season continues, UConn will face tougher competition, a fact that Hurley and his team are preparing for.

The Huskies will play their next game on Dec. 30 against DePaul, which is enough time to regroup after a disappointing 76-74 loss to No. 7 Creighton on Dec. 20.

“We’ve gotta take advantage of all this practice time,” Hurley said.

UConn will also play nine games in January, giving the team little practice time in between games during this period.
