The work never stops for Dan Hurley, even during the Christmas holidays. The UConn Huskies coach watched his four-star commit Eric Reibe face off against Duke signee Cameron Boozer in the Jordan Holiday Classic at Baruch College in New York City on Friday night.
Hurley and his assistant Luke Murray sat courtside at Arc Arena as Reibe's Bullis School (Md.) took on Boozer's Columbus High School (Fla.). The Boozer twins, Cameron and Cayden, delivered an impressive performance, combining for 33 points and seven rebounds in Columbus' dominant 70-43 win over Bullis.
Cameron Boozer led Columbus with 18 points on 6-for-8 shooting, along with four rebounds and three assists. Cayden Boozer contributed 15 points, shooting 6-for-11, to help seal the win for the Florida-based team.
UConn commit Eric Reibe struggles in showdown with Cam Boozer as Dan Hurley watches
Eric Reibe had a rough outing against Columbus, struggling in front of his future coach, Dan Hurley. Despite playing a game-high 28 minutes, Reibe failed to crack double figures, scoring just seven points and grabbing four rebounds.
He shot 3-for-11, including 0-for-3 from beyond the arc. The 7-foot center also missed three of his four free-throw attempts.
Reibe also struggled with ball handling, committing five of Bullis’ 14 turnovers. Columbus pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Bullis 18-3 to take a 32-13 lead at the break. They never looked back, starting their campaign in the Big Apple with a dominant victory.
Cameron Boozer and Columbus will next face Kiyan Anthony and Long Island Lutheran (NY) on Saturday in a much-anticipated clash between the sons of former NBA stars. Reibe and Bullis will look to bounce back against Archbishop Stepinac (NY) in the nightcap.
Apart from Reibe, Hurley has signed three other top prospects to bolster UConn's freshman class for the 2025-26 season: Braylon Mullins from Greenfield-Central High School (Indiana), Darius Adams from La Lumiere School (Indiana) and Jacob Furphy from Australia.
