Dawn Staley enjoyed the quarterfinals on Wednesday, sharing a snapshot of her former player, A'ja Wilson, in action. Staley, who competed in three Olympics (1996, 2000, and 2004), was recently spotted with JuJu Watkins and Sue Bird, cheering for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The fun moment was captured in a series of pictures posted by Angela Manuel-Davis on Friday. Staley, the South Carolina coach, even donned a chef's outfit while enjoying the event with friends.

Staley, who coached the U.S. women's basketball team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, was seen not only with Watkins and Bird but also dressed in red alongside Diljeet Dosanjh Taylor (Women's Track & Field Coach), Dame Pat McGrath (makeup artist and entrepreneur), activist Tarana Burke, Stacey Abrams, and former soccer star Megan Rapinoe at the Olympic events.

NBC's broadcast also captured Staley sitting courtside with Vanessa Bryant, wife of the late Kobe Bryant, and their daughter Natalia, during the U.S. women's basketball semifinals in Paris on Friday.

During halftime, NBC Sports reporter Zora Stephenson interviewed Staley about her experience in Paris.

"It is by far the very best, you meet so many people," Staley said. "You get to eat all kinds of food ... I am living my best live."

Dawn Staley back Imane Khelif amidst Olympic controversy

Italian boxer Angela Carini expressed regret and apologized to Algerian boxer Imane Khelif after a controversial match at the 2024 Summer Olympics. The controversy centered around gender eligibility issues and the abrupt end to their bout, leaving Carini feeling sad.

Jemele Hill, a former ESPN writer now with "The Atlantic," and South Carolina women's basketball head coach Dawn Staley, spoke out in support of Khelif. Hill posted on X:

"I hope Khelif sues some people over their reckless remarks. All this story did was expose ugliness, hatred, and transphobia.
“As Carini admitted here, she quit because she was upset she was gonna get her a-- whooped and other folks turned it into something else," Hill added.

Staley added her thoughts in the comments section,

"They also need to pray and be prayed for because…..the way their lives are set up pure hatred," she wrote.

According to reports, Carini withdrew from her Round of 16 match against Khelif just 46 seconds in, after taking a hit to the face and struggling to breathe.

Khelif will move on to the next round on Saturday, facing Hungarian boxer Luca Hamori.
