Dawn Staley has the well-deserved recognition of being one of the greatest coaches in college basketball history. She is also known for having special moments with fans who are dedicated to meeting her in person.

Following No. 2 South Carolina's 90-49 blowout victory over Texas A&M on Thursday, a fan caught Staley's eye with a handmade sign. It read that she traveled over 900 miles from the capital city of Boston, Massachusetts, to visit Staley and the Gamecocks at the Colonial Life Arena.

The coach happily obliged, taking a few pictures with the dedicated fan, as seen in this video posted on X by Noah Chast.

"This fan came from BOSTON just to meet @dawnstaley. Dawn took a moment to say hi and take a picture after South Carolina's big 90-49 win over Texas A&M," Chast reported.

How Dawn Staley's South Carolina played vs. Texas A&M

The dominant 41-point victory marked the 10th consecutive win for Dawn Staley and the No. 2 Gamecocks.

South Carolina played solid on both sides of the ball. On offense, they shot 50.8% from the field, including 34.8% from beyond the arc. On defense, they applied a lot of pressure on the Aggies' shot selection, holding them to shooting splits of 28.4% overall and 15.4% from downtown.

Six players scored in double-digits for the Gamecocks to lead a balanced offensive performance from the squad. Joyce Edwards finished with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, MiLaysia Fulwiley put up 17 points and six rebounds, and Sania Feagin provided 12 points and four rebounds.

Improving to 15-1 on the season. They are averaging 82.9 points while limiting teams to 54.9 points on the other side of the court.

Even though the Gamecocks statistically don't have a scorer averaging 20 points per game, they have players who can step up in any given game. Edwards currently leads the group with 11.3 points and 5.1 rebounds off the bench. Te-Hina Paopao comes next with 11.1 points on 40.3% shooting from three, while MiLaysia Fulwiley produces 10.9 points and 2.8 rebounds.

After today's ranked matchup against the No. 5 Texas Longhorns at 1 p.m. ET, Dawn Staley and the No. 2 Gamecocks will prepare for another ranked encounter against No. 18 Alabama at the Coleman Coliseum on Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. ET.
