The Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball team shocked college basketball by luring John Calipari from the Kentucky Wildcats. However, some fans questioned Calipari's integrity and were not happy with the way he left them.
On "The Don Patrick Show" on Wednesday, Calipari talked about why he left Kentucky after 15 years, saying that it was not the fans who pushed him away and that he wanted to win national championships with his new team.
Kentucky fans reacted on X to his comments on the show.
This fan was not happy and accused Calipari of violating his contract:
"Did he mention secretly violating his contract?"
Another fan had the same issue with Calipari:
"So it started with me breaching my contract and costing myself $31 million..........."
This fan posted that John Calipari was good for Kentucky for 10 years and underperformed for five years:
"You had 10 great years there and 5 years of mid."
Some other fans commented on Don Patrick's post and made fun of Calipari for the statements he made:
One fan found it hilarious that Calipari wanted to win a national championship with Arkansas:
"He said "let's win another national championship" and y'all think he was being serious in this?"
One fan was disappointed about Calipari's comments:
"This tells me all I need to know about cal... smh."
Another fan made fun of Calipari's tactics:
"Let's win a championship" bro let the 14 seed Oakland Golden Grizzlies run the same 2 cross screen plays all game and didn’t even realize it."
