La La Anthony, NBA great Carmelo's ex-wife, shared pictures of their son, Kiyan Anthony on Instagram on Sunday. The mother and son duo are in Japan, enjoying their summer vacation before Kiyan begins his senior year at Long Island Lutheran High School.
In the photos, La La snapped a few pictures with the 17-year-old and fans were surprised by how tall he was when standing next to her. Kiyan is 6-foot-5 and weighs 185 pounds. One fan wrote:
"Omg, did your son grow overnight?"
"He's so tall omg. Awww watching him grow up is amazing," one fan said.
"Boys grow up overnight... great moments," another fan said.
"Man I can't believe little dude's become so tall, Crazy," said one fan.
Some fans also commented on Kiyan Anthony wearing Joe Burrow's No. 9 Cincinnati Bengals T-shirt.
"Only the bengals fans go peep the Joe Burrow jersey," one fan said.
"Got that JoeyB on," said another fan.
Kiyan Anthony has been in the news this summer as he averaged 28.5 points per contest at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in June. He also participated in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, where he averaged 21.8 points in eight games. This includes a 40-point, 15-for-19 performance. On the Nike EYBL circuit, Anthony averaged 19.6 points playing for Team Melo.
Kiyan Anthony has his final list of preferred school programs
As he prepares for his transition to college, Kiyan Anthony shared his top six schools on Thursday. The list included his father, Carmelo Anthony's alma mater, Syracuse, along with Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, USC and Rutgers.
The shooting guard spoke to ZagsBlog about potentially going to the same school as his dad.
"I just like the atmosphere, you know, obviously my dad went there 20-something years ago, so I just like the atmosphere, I like the family environment. The coaches, I feel like they're recruiting me for myself, and not just because of my father. That's what I like," Anthony said.
"I just feel like they're rebuilding and they're looking to get a winning team. I feel like I can help them do that if I was to go there."
It is expected that Anthony will share his final decision in November, just before he starts his senior season.
