After a successful start to the season, Dan Hurley's UConn Huskies endured their toughest time last week, suffering three straight losses in the Maui Invitational. After a 99-97 overtime loss to Memphis, the Huskies also fell to Colorado and Dayton.

On Saturday, UConn bounced back with a 99-45 victory over the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks. Speaking to the press after the game, Hurley, whose net worth is reportedly $20 million (according to Celebrity Net Worth), reflected on his struggles during the past week.

Dan Hurley drew attention last week for his fiery behavior, which he attributed to disagreements with officiating.

The UConn Huskies are aiming for a three-peat this season, but the consecutive losses have dampened their campaign. Hurley noted that playing three games in three days left little time to make meaningful adjustments.

Dan Hurley asks for patience as the Huskies try to defend their championship

The UConn Huskies lost four starters from last season to the NBA draft and have since integrated several newcomers. With these roster changes, Hurley and his staff are still working to find the best on-court combinations.

After the win on Saturday, coach Hurley asked for patience from fans as the team continued to build chemistry.

“We are going to need grace and patience and just incredible support from our fans and our crowd, not just those in attendance, but also externally and on social media,” Hurley said.
“Our team is a work in progress with so many new guys, so many young guys, so many people who have moved into much bigger roles or are playing for the first time and are carrying the weight of the monster program we have created here."

Hurley also acknowledged that high expectations stem from the team's success over the past two seasons but said replicating that success could require time.
