“Does she know what kinda flex she has?”: LSU’s Flau'jae Johnson expresses awe over Serena Williams’ daughter Olympia owning two sports teams

Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, appeared on a recent episode of Flau'jae Johnson’s “Best of Both Worlds with Flau'jae” podcast. Ohanian discussed quite a lot of things with the rapper and LSU college basketball star, including his family life.

What was awe-inspiring for Flau'jae Johnson was the fact that Serena and Ohanian’s daughter, Olympia, already owns two sports teams at a very young age. Having such an investment portfolio at her age (6) is unimaginable and it got Flau'jae asking many questions:

“Your daughter, the beautiful Olympia, is an owner of two sports teams at the age of five (now six). Does she know what kind of flex she has right now?”

The businessman and investor said:

“She doesn't know. So don't tell her, please. In 2019, I started this team. I set aside a few hundred grands into a trust for her and any other future kids Serena and I have. Adira (Ohanian and Serena's youngest daughter) , good news, you're also splitting it now with Olympia.”

After co-founding the social media platform Reddit, Alex Ohanian has become a renowned investor in the business world. He co-founded the early-stage venture capital firm Initialized Capital and is also a partner at Y Combinator. Speaking further on the edition of the podcast, Ohanian explained why he decided to make sports investments for his kids to Flau'jae Johnson.

“I really feel my number one responsibility is to conduct my business life and my home life in a way that makes those girls proud. Not that our kids are ever going to have to worry obviously, Momma’s done very well,” Ohanian said.

“You'll think a lot about legacy building when you become a dad and you start to think about that opportunity. Obviously, the most important thing is the good presents I can give them. But in addition, I just love the idea, and why not? Let a little black girl be a trendsetter for team ownership.”

Ohanian and Serena’s daughters are currently part owners of a soccer team Angel City FC and also Los Angeles Golf Club. It's unknown whether their parents plan to extend the investment to other sports teams in the future. Nonetheless, it’s already a milestone achievement and a pace-setting move for the two girls.
