Another NCAA title for Dan Hurley and another trip to the Yankee Stadium. It was almost the same time last year when UConn head coach Dan Hurley visited the Yankee Stadium to throw the first pitch and celebrate his first NCAA title with UConn.
Dan Hurley, yet again, delivered the first pitch at the Yankee Stadium after winning the national title for the second time in two years. A left-hand pitcher, Hurley, went to the Yankee Stadium before the game between the Red Sox and the Yankees.
The video shared by FOX College Hoops caught the eyes of hoops fans on the internet who took to social media to react.
"Does he want to hang around and coach?" one fan asked.
"Throws like a girl," said another.
Dan Hurley was also known to complain a lot during matches and some fans talked about that as well.
"Prolly Whined he didn't get these strike call," one fan stated.
"Did he cry and whine about it afterwards?" said another.
While some made fun of his throw and asked him to stick to hoops.
"This guy!!!! Stick to hoops coach!!! @dhurley15" said another fan.
"Come on Huley, that was a weak sauce toss," one fan said.
Yanks is going through a rough phase and Dan Hurley was there to provide them with useful advice to fight back, according to CT Insider.
"I know they're in a tough stretch," said Hurley. "We went through a really tough stretch the January of the first year we won it. Getting through those tough stretches, coming together as a team, getting back to your identity as an organization and staying together gives you a chance to really form a strong team when you go through the struggles."
Dan Hurley went through the Lakers' offer in his offseason
Dan Hurley received an offer from the Lakers' to take over their vacant head coach job. Lakers GM Rob Pelinka saw him as the best option for the position and offered him a very lucrative offer.
Reportedly, Hurley had a very long conversation with Pelinka as Hurley listened to the offer with open arms. However, he later decided to return to the Huskies and keep the three-peat hopes alive.
"I am humbled by this entire experience... At the end of the day, I am extremely proud of the championship culture we have built at Connecticut. We met as a team before today's workout and our focus right now is on getting better this summer and connecting as a team as we continue to pursue championships," said Hurley.
The offer from the Lakers was reported to be around $70 million for 6 years.
