Duke's Cooper Flagg had an impressive scrimmage against Team USA. He has been a fan's favorite and is already a hot topic in NBA circles. After a successful season with Montverde Academy in Florida, he has now been named the Gatorade Best Male Player of the Year at the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles.

His girlfriend, Lola Ressler, praised him for his achievement on Instagram and wrote:

Flagg deserved this prestigious award after averaging 16.4 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.8 apg and 2.7 bpg in his final season. He also secured Mr. Basketball USA in the same season.

The Naismith Prep Player of the Year, Cooper Flagg, was also praised by NBA analyst Seth Greenberg on ESPN's Get Up show.

"That is a bad dude," Greenberg said. "He's a generational talent. 6'9", seven-foot-wingspan, three-level scorer, can play in the post, great footwork, shoot the three, did a great job attacking mismatches.
"Next year, America ... you're going to listen and see him every single night on SportsCenter, on GetUp, on First Take, the dude is a generational talent."

One of the top prospects in the class of 2025, Flagg stood out while playing alongside legends like Anthony Davis and LeBron James as a part of USA Select. He was spotted making an impressive 3-point jumper while facing a turnover against Davis. Here's the video:

Kevin Love was named the Gatorade Best Male Player of the Year in 2007. The Miami Heat star, who interacted with Flagg, was left impressed by his potential.

"There a number of players' games that I see inside Cooper's game. He belongs. You can tell he knows the game well." Love told Yahoo Sports.
"Just watching a bit of film on him, he does a little bit of everything well. He takes advantage of a guy backing off of him and shoots the 3, regardless of size. He uses his height and length to switch one through five, and the combination of size, length, and athleticism is impressive."

Flagg will start his collegiate career in the 2024–25 season with Duke for at least one season before transitioning to the NBA, where he is expected to do wonders.
