Cameron and Cayden Boozer have visited Jon Scheyer’s program twice in the last 10 months. They were in Durham during the Blue Devils game against Arizona in November 2023. The two were also donning Duke merchandise earlier this month, mounting an unofficial visit to the program.
Now, less than a month after the Boozer brothers’ visit, coach Scheyer and his staff will travel to Florida to see Cayden and Cameron in the coming week.
The duo are the sons of former NBA star Carlos Boozer and two of the most sought-after players in the 2025 talent pool. Cayden Boozer is ranked 18th on 247Sports’ Composite, while 6-foot-9 Cameron Boozer holds the second spot.
The twins visited the Florida Gators earlier this week and are down for an appearance with the Miami Hurricanes on September 11. Duke's staff is assumed to line up at around the same time. Despite their activeness in the recruiting circuit, Cayden and Cameron have not narrowed down their preferred programs yet.
Apart from Jon Scheyer, Todd Golden and Jim Larranaga, Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida State and North Carolina have also shown interest in the brothers. Nevertheless, they are yet to declare a timeline for their final college decision.
With that, Jon Scheyer, due to Carlos Boozer’s connection with the program, is believed to be in the lead for landing the twins. He played for Mike Krzyzewski from 1999–02 before transitioning to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Jon Scheyer is trailing on his 2025 recruiting pool
Kentucky’s Mark Pope has two of the top recruits already lined up for his 2025 class. Duke is still looking for its first commitment. Arkansas and Hurricanes have one each while the Gators have two commits from the top 100 list.
In a way, this disables Jon Scheyer’s staff from giving a certain picture to the Boozer brothers for their possible time in Durham. However, landing the twins first can enable them to add complimentary pieces around them in the succeeding months.
Moreover, another challenge lies ahead for Duke. Cayden and Cameron Boozer were believed to be a packaged deal earlier this year. However, the notion has changed since then, making the Blue Devils' quest to land their first 2025 recruits harder than ever.
