Kyle Singler cemented his name as a Duke legend in 2010. He was a crucial piece in Duke's 2009-10 NCAA Division I Championship run led by Coach K. However, over 14 years later, the circumstances surrounding Singler are heartbreaking. He took to Instagram to highlight the alleged mistreatment he suffered at the hands of his community.

"I have been mistreated and abused, neglected, made into a mental example. And I fear for my life, every day. And people in my community make me look out as if I'm going to be someone that's going to be a problem and make things difficult for people when I'm only trying to be helpful. I feel like I have a certain way about myself and strength and purpose that does not get valued or get treated properly."

This message caused a stir across the NBA world. Veterans like Andre Drummond, Isaiah Thomas, and Kevin Love supported him after he released the emotional message.

Kyle Singler made his name after helping Duke win its fourth NCAA championship as the Most Outstanding Player in 2010. After completing his senior year in 2011 he declared for the NBA draft in 2012.

He fell to the second round but was eventually drafted by the Detroit Pistons. Unfortunately for him, his NBA career was much shorter than expected. He was traded to the OKC in 2015 and played three more years. One of the last games he played in the NBA was Russell Westbrook's historic 50-point triple-double. After a few games into the 2017-18 season, he was waived by OKC.
