Terry’s Chocolate Vegas Showdown had a battle of elite programs as the top-ranked Kansas Jayhawks secured a 75-72 win over the No. 11 Duke Blue Devils. The Jayhawks were able to win despite seeing center Hunter Dickinson getting ejected for a flagrant-2 foul after kicking Maliq Brown in the head midway through the second half of the game.
Kansas (6-0) were able to win without their best player on the court down the stretch and this could be a massive point going forward that shows this Jayhawks team can compete with the elite teams even when a player is in foul trouble or injured.
Duke (4-2) needs to figure out how to be competitive against some of the elite programs as they are now 1-2 against ranked teams this season and 3-0 against unranked programs.
