Harper didn't take long to get on the scoreboard, making his first basket with a layup five seconds into the game.
Even though he went 3-of-9 from the field in the first half, Harper maintained his aggressiveness in getting to the free throw line. He went there seven times, being successful in six of those attempts.

The second half was where Dylan Harper would explode on the offensive side of the ball. He found better shot selections, making eight of his 10 field-goal attempts as he kept Rutgers within striking distance against Alabama.
He also continued getting chances at the charity stripe. This time, he had nine opportunities as he converted on all of his free throws.
Within the last eight minutes of the game, Harper scored 13 points with multiple shots inside the paint and free throws, being directly responsible for 16 of Rutgers' last 17 points.
His final successful offensive play came with five seconds left. He made a layup to have the score at 93-90, but it was too late as Alabama held on to win.
Here's Dylan Harper's stats from the game against Alabama:
Dylan Harper is the heart of Rutgers' offense this season
Dylan Harper is averaging 24.6 points, 4.9 assists, 4.7 rebounds and a steal per game on 55% shooting from the field and 27.6% from beyond the arc.
The Scarlet Knights have experienced inconsistent shooting from beyond the arc, resulting in them suffering close losses to opponents they could have outmatched. Despite this, their chances of winning seem to depend on Harper being highly productive on offense, which appears to be something that the star freshman is embracing with his main responsibilities.
Rutgers will look to bounce back from the loss with a key matchup on the road against the No. 6 Houston at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Nov. 30 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
