Two-time WNBA champion A'ja Wilson has had a stellar start to the WNBA season, with her form showing no sign of waning. Despite the defending champions losing their last game 100-86 to the Minnesota Lynx, Wilson registered 28 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists for her seventh consecutive 25+ point game.

Wilson was also recently named among a host of other WNBA stars to the Team USA roster that will represent the country at the 2024 Paris Olympics in a few weeks.

Popular USC prospect JuJu Watkins reposted a graphic of Aja Wilson's message about the next generation of Team USA hoopers on her Instagram stories.

The graphic reposted by Watkins, featuring the Aces star's comments, stated:

"Our roster is starting to look a little different. We're starting to build a new culture of USA basketball that's starting to shift but the standard is the same, we're still gold-minded. A breath of fresh air...it's going to be fun," Wilson said.

A'ja Wilson headlines Team USA minus Caitlin Clark

A'ja Wilson is having the season of her life in the WNBA averaging 28.3 points on 50.7% shooting from the field and 42.9% from beyond the arc, 11.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

The Paris Olympics will be Wilson's second Olympics games after winning gold with Team USA at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

One of the main topics of conversation since the squad announcement has been the omission of Indiana Fever rookie and former college basketball star Caitlin Clark after entering the WNBA to much fanfare.

After the squad announcement was made, Wilson chose to focus on the positives of her inclusion, and the makeup of the squad, rather than the outside noise regarding the former Iowa Hawkeyes star.

"This is something that I don't take for granted. I've been with USAB for a long long time, but it's an honor, it's a blessing to be what you be. Just being a number," Wilson said.
“What makes us stand out has to be our depth. One through twelve, we are good. We are great at every position. We are big, and I think a lot of countries don’t have that. We have that and then some. I love playing alongside that. You can’t just focus on one player,” Wilson said.

Joining A'ja Wilson in the team will be experienced campaigners like Diana Taurasi, Alyssa Thomas, Kahleah Copper, Brittney Griner, Chelsea Gray, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Sabrina Ionescu, Jackie Young and Breanna Stewart.

Given the immense popularity of Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, the disclosure surrounding her omission from the team will likely continue throughout the summer, despite stars like A'ja Wilson headlining Team USA.
