Hailey Van Lith has elevated her game in her first season with the TCU Horned Frogs after transferring from LSU. The 5-foot-9 senior guard has propelled TCU to an impressive 16-1 record, edging closer to a top 10 ranking in the AP poll.

In 17 games, Van Lith has averaged 17.9 points per game while shooting a career-high 45.8% from the field. She has also contributed 4.6 rebounds and a personal-best 6.1 assists per game.

Her influence was on full display after TCU’s 80-73 victory over the Kansas Jayhawks. That's when she posted a set of pictures of herself on Instagram in her TCU gear.

The caption read:

"The journey is the dream 10."

Fans, teammates and analysts have celebrated her efforts on the court. Among them was former LSU Tigers teammate Last-Tear Poa, who commented on the post:

"Proud of you my girl."

Hailey Van Lith's new beginning at TCU

Van Lith initially played three seasons with the Louisville Cardinals, where she averaged an impressive 19.7 ppg during her final season. However, her transfer to LSU came with its challenges.

Playing alongside stars like Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson on a stacked roster, her scoring dropped to 11.6 ppg. Seeking a fresh start, she joined TCU for the 2024-25 season and made a 16-1 overall record and a 3-0 in conference play.

Alongside teammate Sedona Prince, she was named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List, cementing her status as one of the leading candidates for national player of the year.

Prince has also been a standout performer for TCU. The 6-foot-7 center leads the nation in blocks while averaging 17.3 ppg, 9.1 rpg and 3.6 bpg. Her performance against No. 3 Notre Dame, where she recorded 20 points, 20 rebounds and eight blocks, was a defining moment for the Horned Frogs this season.

This is not Van Lith’s first recognition of the Wooden Award. She earned a spot on the Midseason Top 25 during her junior year at Louisville and was also named to the Preseason Watch List this past November.

Van Lith and Prince have earned significant recognition, including being named Ann Meyers Drysdale National Players of the Week after key wins in the Caribbean against Notre Dame and South Florida.
