On Sunday, Kia Brooks, Flau’jae Johnson's mom, made a post on X supporting her daughter as fans trolled her on social media. During Sunday's games, Brooks reacted to results.
The tweet was posted amid South Carolina’s 77-62 loss to UCLA Bruins Sunday. The post attracted a few heated comments from fans.
“Flau’jae and Angel about to fight, go break it up,” one fan posted.
Another fan responded saying: “Baby let's not. LSU is playing missionary baptist east and still struggling. We are playing high level teams. We ain't the same.”
In a dig aimed at South Carolina’s snapped winning streak, a fan tried to counter other comments.
“lsu still undefeated tho !” a fan responded.
“I’m a LSU fan and wish you would just log out for once,” another fan said.
Brooks waves white flag after “messy" comments
A few hours after Kia Brooks made her original X post, she had another tweet which seemed to explain her thought process. In a detailed note, she explained how she hopes college basketball girls can be paid more money as a result of increased engagement.
Brooks expressed her desire to see the growth of women's basketball and recognizes the unique power of engagement across media platforms.
She is the founder and CEO of FNA Sports & Entertainment Management, the company that represents Flau’jae Johnson. She was instrumental in securing a shoe deal for the LSU star before her first collegiate game, making it one of the biggest NIL deals in NCAA history.
