The LSU Tigers' Last-Tear Poa spent her Christmas with teammate Flau'jae Johnson's family. The Melbourne native decided to forgo her long trip back home and chose to stay in Baton Rouge.

The junior guard's mother, Kia Brooks, shared a clip of Poa and her son Trayron Milton on her Instagram story on Thursday. While it begins with Poa hugging him, she eventually ends up playfully putting him in a headlock, which Brooks remarked as sibling-like behavior.

"Since traveling back to Australia would've taken four days round-trip, Poa joined my family for Christmas instead. I believe holidays are for sharing with loved ones. So we welcomed her with open arms and created some unforgettable memories," Johnson's mother wrote.

Flau'jae Johnson and Last-Tear Poa are playing their third year with the LSU Tigers. However, Poa is a senior, as she spent one year in junior college. The two were a part of the 2023 national championship-winning team. During her appearance on Johnson's podcast, 'Best of Both Worlds,' Poa recalled their title run:

"I think, just winning it overall, it was proving everyone wrong, 'cuz I think, we were like, ranked 26, right? And, I think just proving everyone wrong was the best feeling and celebrating everything that people thought of us. So, it was great."

After the Elite Eight exit last season, Flau'jae Johnson and Last-Tear Poa, along with the rest of the Tigers roster, have a lot to prove once again. They are currently undefeated, leading the Southeast Conference with a 14-0 overall record.

Last-Tear Poa explains the reason behind her lawsuit against the US government

Like many other international college athletes, Last-Tear Poa is not legally allowed to participate in work outside of playing basketball at LSU. This means that she has lost many NIL brand deal opportunities because of her F-1 visa status.

In October, Last-Tear Poa decided to file a lawsuit against the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, per On3. During her chat with Flau'jae Johnson on her podcast, Poa explained the reason behind this move.

"I did it because, like my platform, it's not easy to get it (the NIL deals). I think it'll be a great opportunity for people behind me that's coming up to earn the money they worked hard for," Poa said. "I'm like on the other side of the world but (the NIL will) be a great opportunity to earn pretty much get the money that we deserve."

For Poa to earn from brand deals, she would need a P-1A visa, specifically granted to professional players and amateur athletes playing at internationally recognized events.
