Flau'Jae Johnson's mom Kia Brooks was ecstatic over Kailyn Gilbert's last-second heroics to save No. 6 LSU's unbeaten record. Gilbert's floating jumper with 0.7 seconds left gave the Tigers an 89-87 win over the No. 16 Tennessee Lady Vols on Thursday.
The LSU women's basketball Instagram account posted the game-winning sequence with the caption, "KlutchG," accompanied by a cold-face emoji.

Brooks celebrated the clutch shot by reposting the video and dropping a four-word text on her Instagram story.
"Every damn time!! "Klutch G" @kailyngilbert_," she wrote.
Aside from the buzzer-beater, Kailyn Gilbert led the Tigers with 22 points, five rebounds and two steals. The game went back and forth, with LSU grabbing a nine-point lead in the first quarter. Tennessee battled back and won the remaining quarters, but they were unable to overcome the Tigers' late-game heroics.
Gilbert did not make the starting lineup, which included Aneesah Morrow, Jersey Wolfenbarger, Flau'Jae Johnson, Mikaylah Williams and Shayeann Day-Wilson. However, the junior guard from Tampa Bay, Florida, was impactful in her 30 minutes of action off the bench.
Kailyn Gilbert discusses staying focused despite outside noise and doubts
Ahead of the LSU's matchup at Tennessee, Kailyn Gilbert joined Flau'Jae Johnson on the "Best of Both Worlds" podcast. Gilbert spoke about her transfer portal experience and playing under coach Kim Mulkey.
Johnson asked Gilbert if she had anything to say to the doubters who questioned her ability to succeed at a top program.
"I can't cuss on here can I?" Kailyn said. "Really, all I'll say to them is you wrong. Like, I don't know what you're talking about. I'm trying to be as professional as possible because you know how I get, Flau'Jae.
"I'm just gonna say, all y'all can kiss my, you know what. I'm doing it at a high level, top 10 team in the country. I feel like it don't get no better than this."
Although Kailyn Gilbert has yet to crack the starting five, she has been a valuable reserve who provides scoring punch off the bench. The 22 points she scored on Thursday at Thompson–Boling Arena were her second-highest total this season.
The 5-foot-8 guard, who transferred from Arizona ahead of the 2024-25 season, has proven to be a solid addition to LSU's roster. She is averaging 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season.
