Flau'Jae Johnson bucked a slow start to finish with 15 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one steal to help LSU pick up an 83-61 win over Albany on Sunday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Johnson failed to score in the first quarter and the Great Danes raced to a surprise 25-16 lead. The 5-foot-10 guard made her presence felt in the second, scoring seven points and grabbing four rebounds to help LSU reduce the deficit to four at the half.

The basketball player-cum-rapper breached double figures in the third when she scored on two layups, allowing LSU to grab a 56-53 lead after 30 minutes. She also recorded a rebound and assist.

The Lady Tigers stepped up their assault in the payoff period, unleashing a 25-2 run which finally put out the Great Danes and improved to 15-0. Johnson picked up four points, one rebound and one assist before sitting out the final minutes.

Tigers vs Great Danes Game Recap: Aneesah Morrow puts up monster numbers as LSU picks up 15th win

LSU survived a scare to beat Albany to remain unbeaten in the 2024-25 women's college basketball season. Aneesah Morrow delivered a fine performance for the Lady Tigers, scoring 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.

The 6-foot-1 forward also came up with 18 rebounds, two assists and one steal for the Kim Mulkey-coached team, who won for the 10th time at home this season.

Mikaylah Williams added 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block for the Lady Tigers, who won despite shooting 44.4% from the field (7.7% from the 3-point line). Flau'Jae Johnson and Jersey Wolfenbarger added 15 and 11 points.

LSU ruled the rebounding battle, 53-27, and made 18-of-21 from the free-throw line. They also dominated the shaded area, 46-22, and finished with 23 fastbreak points.

Kaci Donovan led Albany with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists while Kayla Cooper and Lilly Phillips added 14 apiece for the Great Danes, who dropped to their third loss in 13 games.

LSU will open its SEC regular season slate on the road against Arkansas at the Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks are in last place in the conference standings at 6-8.
