Flau'jae Johnson led the No. 7 LSU Tigers to a 68-67 win over the Washington Huskies in the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship first round on Monday. She scored 19 points on 8-of-19 shooting.

Johnson scored the game's first basket a minute into the first quarter with a layup. She missed her first two three-pointers and committed one turnover.

In the second quarter, she was more active, taking seven shots. Though she made just two, one was her first 3-pointer midway through the period as she kept LSU within striking distance while Washington capitalized on the Tigers' shooting struggles.

At halftime, Johnson had seven points, three rebounds and a turnover on 3-of-10 shooting from the field and 1-of-3 from beyond the arc.

Flau'jae Johnson found more balance in the third quarter, converting two of her four shot attempts. She also grabbed a rebound, recorded her first assist, and made a steal.

Though she played just eight minutes after being on the court the entire first half, her contributions on both ends helped LSU outscore Washington 22-16, cutting into the Huskies' lead.

Washington started the fourth quarter with a 52-48 lead. They had a lead as big as 15 points, but LSU was not done making their rally. Johnson scored seven more points and made three steals to stop the Huskies offense.

Her final offensive play came with 44 seconds left. Her teammate Kailyn Gilbert then secured the go-ahead layup, clinching the victory for LSU.
