LSU star Flau'jae Johnson was one of the major factors in the Tigers' 91-64 win over the Seton Hall Pirates on Tuesday. Held at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, the 5'10 junior delivered in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase to help the team win its 13th straight game of the season.

Johnson scored 17 points, corralled down five rebounds, dished out three assists, got a steal and blocked two shots in 36 minutes. She also only had one turnover in what was an all-around outing for her.

The combo guard first made her mark on the game with an assist to a Mikaylah Williams three and then a layup in the 7:58 mark of the first period. Johnson would then go everywhere on the court, tallying stats in the assist and rebound departments. She would help LSU to a seven-point edge to end the first quarter, 22-15.

In the second quarter, Johnson was starting to get herself going in the game, as she totaled six of her 17 points throughout the frame. Along with this, the Georgia native was making her presence known on the defensive end, nabbing steals and getting rebounds. The Tigers then closed the first half up by a large margin, 57-25.

It would be more of the same to open the second half for Johnson, as her first score would come by a jumper at the 6:17 mark, 61-33. LSU's advantage continued to balloon with Johnson trying her best to contribute by being a pest on defense. As a result, the team headed into the layover period with a sizeable 22-point lead, 71-49.

She still didn't let her foot off the gas in the fourth quarter as she connected on another jump shot to open LSU's scoring, 73-51. Doing her thing on both ends of the ball, Johnson eventually made her first and only 3-pointer at the 3:32 mark.

A couple more baskets, here and there, and the LSU Tigers went on to defeat the Pirates by an astounding 27 points, 91-64.

Flau'jae Johnson, LSU guards lead the way vs Seton Hall

LSU's guards, led by Flau'jae Johnson, did most of the heavy lifting against Seton Hall. The Tigers trio of Johnson, Mikaylah Williams, and Aneesah Morrow, scored 63 of the team's 91 points. They also grabbed 29 rebounds between them, 19 of which came from Morrow herself.

"We've got pretty outstanding guards," Kim Mulkey said postgame per NOLA.com, "and we're gonna let them shoot it out there and get us some post touches occasionally."

Flau'jae Johnson has taken on a bigger role in the team, as this is her first LSU campaign without Angel Reese. Despite the heavier tasks given to her, Johnson has looked more poised than ever.

The 21-year-old is averaging 20.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists through the Tigers' first 13 games.
